Our big news this summer is that 2009 marks our fiftieth
year in business as of 12 June 2009. This goes with the early history
Miniature Reflections: Part One found on our web site
http://www.fpmt.us/min1.htm with a short account of our origin and
early days. Our second history page Miniature Reflections: Part Two
http://www.fpmt.us/min2.htm contains photographs of our early days
from the late 1950s and 1960s.
Our Summer Schedule will begin on 5 March 2009. Our Summer Schedule remains:
Tuesday through Friday
11:00am to 4:30-5:00pm
Saturdays and Sundays
11:00am to 5:00-6:00pm
While this is our official schedule, our closing time may change somewhat
depending on the time of sunset, weather conditions (especially the temperature
and wind conditions), and the number of passengers. The best way to check this
is to call our voice mail at the Trinity Park Depot (817-336-3328). This number
will always have the most recent information about the Forest Park Miniature
Railroad. You can, of course, continue to call me at 817-834-2119.
Also, keep in mind that, whatever schedule we fellow, our timetable on Saturdays,
Sundays, and selected holidays can be on the hour, every forty-five minutes, or
every twenty minutes (when two trains are running) depending on the weather
conditions and the number of passengers.
Low winter temperatures and increased wind can also affect our hours of
operation, especially closing times; we may close at any time between 12:00
noon and 4:00 pm on days when the temperature drops and the wind soars. Again,
the best way to check if we are open or closed is to call 817-336-3328. We
generally change to our closed message ten to fifteen minutes before our last
train leaves the Forest Park Depot.
We will be open the following holidays this summer season, and closed the
following Tuesday, due to the holidays which fall on these Mondays, weather permitting:
Memorial Day
25 May 2009
Labor Day
7 September 2009
Columbus Day
12 October 2009
Weather permitting is still defined as 55° or above, no appreciable wind, no
appreciable precipitation.
Our prices remain:
Adults (13 years and above) - $3.00
Seniors (65 and up) - $2.50
Children (1 year to 12 years) - $2.50
Groups (25 passengers or more) - $2.00
Under one rides on their parent's ticket.
We will continue to run trains for large groups (fifty or more passengers)
before and during our regular hours if booked at least forty-eight hours in
advance. We will also run such groups on days when we are normally closed
(seventy-five or more passengers) with permission of our train master,
Mike Miller 817-336-3328 or miller@fpmt.us.
We continue to update our mailing list. If there are any changes to your
mailing address, please call the Trinity Park Depot at 817-336-3328 and leave
any changes on our voice mail. Also, if you wish to receive an electronic
version of our notification letter, please contact us by email at
fpmt@fpmt.us.
If you have any questions or comments, please call me at 817-336-3328 or
817-834-2119. You may also email me at
fpmt@fpmt.us.
